The Department of Labor announced changes affecting the overtime provisions of the act going into effect on Dec. 1. This change most notably includes raising the exempt salary threshold from $23,660 to $47,476 for certain exemptions. Michael and Kym talked about an overview of FLSA, what qualifies an employee to be exempt- exploring the duties tests, understanding what's changing in the FLSA, strategies for employers to find compliance under the new regulations, beyond the numbers- other important considerations, best practices for communicating with employees and tips and tools to help you navigate the changes.
