CMS Energy Announces Second Quarter Earnings of $0.33 per Share

Reaffirms 2017 Adjusted Earning Guidance

JACKSON, Mich., July 28, 2017 -- CMS Energy announced today reported net income of $92 million, or $0.33 per share, for the second quarter of 2017 and $291 million, or $1.04 per share, for the first half of 2017. Earnings per share in the first half of 2017, which were the same as 2016 on a reported basis, grew 8 cents or 7 percent compared to 2016 on a weather-normalized basis and are ahead of plan.

CMS Energy reaffirmed its guidance for 2017 adjusted earnings of $2.14 to $2.18 per share (*See below for important information about non-GAAP measures) or 6 to 8 percent annual adjusted earnings per share growth.

Consumers Energy Storm Preparation Information

Several rounds of thunderstorms, some of them strong to severe, are expected across portions of Michigan beginning early Wednesday through Thursday morning.,

JACKSON, Mich., July 11, 2017 – With forecasts currently anticipating some of these storms may include winds in excess of 50 mph and could result in power outages, downed wires and other safety hazards. Consumers Energy is monitoring the weather closely, mobilizing resources and making other preparations to quickly respond to any service interruptions.

Consumers Energy has been monitoring this developing storm system for several days and is ready to respond. Restoration from last weekend’s storms was completed Monday afternoon. Personnel are getting sufficient rest while we are restocking our mobile storm units and essential materials. The Company is making other preparations to quickly respond to any service interruptions.

CARO, Mich., July 5, 2017 – Consumers Energy broke ground last week on its third wind energy project, Cross Winds Energy Park II in Tuscola County’s Columbia Township.

Michigan’s largest energy provider is working with lead contractor White Construction, which has started building access roads and will begin constructing concrete foundations within two weeks for the 19 new turbines that will be 499 feet tall and generate up to 44 megawatts. White Construction was the contractor for Consumers Energy’s Lake Winds Energy Park near Ludington, Mich.
