Latest Storm Affects Over 115,000 Michigan Homes and Businesses

JACKSON, Mich., Aug. 29, 2018 – Crews from Indiana and Tennessee will start arriving in Michigan as early as Wednesday as Consumers Energy works to restore power to over 115,000 homes and businesses affected by another round of severe weather that rolled through the state overnight.

“We are committed to working as quickly as we can to turn on the lights for our friends and neighbors who were affected by the latest storms,” said Tim Sparks, Consumers Energy’s vice president of electric grid integration. “We appreciate our customers’ patience. Our crews are in the field right now to assess damage and repair poles, wires and equipment damaged by Mother Nature.”

More than Half of 64,500 Customers Affected by High Winds, Lightning Restored

JACKSON, Mich., August 27, 2018 – Improving weather conditions have resulted in power being restored to more than half of the 64,500 customers affected by early morning’s storms as Consumers Energy plans for additional storms tonight and later Tuesday.
As of 11:30 a.m., approximately 25,000 customers remained without power across Lower Michigan. The vast majority of customers should have power restored by midnight tonight. In some of the harder hit areas in portions of western and central Michigan, it may be Tuesday evening before power is restored.

Consumers Energy Crews Continue to Restore Service Following High Wind Event

More than 1,000 wires down; 200 electric poles broken

JACKSON, Mich., May 4, 2018 -- Consumers Energy employees and contractors continue working tonight to restore service after high winds gusting over 55 mph interrupted service to more than 88,000 homes and businesses across the Lower Peninsula.

Restoration efforts will continue into the weekend, with over 1,300 employees and contractors working to safely restore power, including 20 mutual assistance employees arriving Saturday morning from Wisconsin. “The strong winds that blew across the lower half of our state resulted in more than 1,600 downed power lines and over 200 broken poles,” said Guy Packard, the company’s vice president of electric operations.

CMS ENERGY Delivers Its 15th Year Of Strong Operational And Financial Results; Raises 2018 Guidance

JACKSON, Mich., Feb. 14, 2018 – CMS Energy announced today 2017 reported net income of $460 million or $1.64 per share, reflecting a charge associated with federal tax reform, compared to $551 million or $1.98 per share for 2016. After excluding the effect of federal tax reform, CMS Energy delivered adjusted earnings of $2.17 per share, or $610 million of adjusted net income for 2017, toward the high end of company guidance. In 2016, adjusted earnings per share were $2.02.

CMS Energy raised its guidance for 2018 adjusted earnings to $2.30 - $2.34 per share (*See below for important information about non-GAAP measures) or 6 to 8 percent annual adjusted earnings per share growth.

Consumers Energy Showing Thanksgiving Cooking Cost Value

JACKSON, Mich., Nov. 20, 2017 – Consumers Energy is sharing that the cost of the energy it takes to cook a traditional Thanksgiving feast is less than $2. That value includes the energy – either natural gas or electricity -- for roasting the stuffed 18-pound turkey at the center of the table and for simmering or baking enough side dishes and desert to serve 12 hungry guests.
