LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU’s marketing campaign introducing the credit union’s new “vertical” credit cards has won two gold awards in the 2019 MAC Awards. The national competition recognizes successful marketing efforts by credit unions.
Credit union veteran working to ensure loan services meet current needs across state
LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU has announced the appointment of Jason Smith as chief lending officer.
In this position, Smith serves as principal advisor to the LAFCU CEO and board of directors concerning lending strategies and risk management. The 20-year veteran of credit unions joined LAFCU in 2018 when it merged with Lansing Postal Community Credit Union of which Smith was CEO/general manager. He has been serving as LAFCU vice president of product and strategy.
Justin Tuck will be responsible for operations, including teller and lending functions as well as staff supervision, at the South Lansing and Collins Road branches effective Aug. 12. He’ll also represent LAFCU in the community.
As Human Resources Generalist, Amy Thelen will oversee recruiting, benefits administration and retiree relations.

LANSING, Mich. — LAFCU has boosted area high school band programs to the tune of $10,000 since 2010. That’s when the Michigan credit union agreed to be the entertainment sponsor of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. It includes a $1,000 donation to a high school band.
