Tom Norton: Opening Opportunity for Filmmakers

Show Biz Weekly welcomes filmmaker Tom Norton to the show!

Segment 1 - Tom Norton is a man who loves the entertainment industry, which explains his being in the field for over thirty years. Norton who is a filmmaker is also the Executive Director of WKTV Community Media based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The digital cinema program based at WKTV, has opened up the opportunity for filmmakers, storytellers, and the like to create their work complimentary, projects must commit to air on WKTV, with a full range of film production gear for the public to use gratis.

Segment 2 - Norton describes his role as a director and how his love of film has launched him into fantastic journeys with his last film “7 Stones”, a made for TV Movie and is currently distributed on Comcast Xfinity. Norton, who also is Emmy nominated, has taken on a new subject and it sounds like a winner with the “The Projectionist”. 

Segment 3- “The Projectionist” takes place in a rural French village during WWII and is about a precocious twelve year old and his love of American westerns and a Jewish projectionist, whose life hangs in imbalance as the Nazi’s progress into France. The film is currently in its closing days on IndieGoGo (www.indiegogo.com/theprotangonistmovie and will continue to filming in and around Grand Rapids. Casting is still under way.
