The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) and Dickinson Area Economic Development Alliance (DAEDA) are pleased to announce the signing of a formal collaborative agreement between the two entities that will have the LSCP providing economic development services and support to the DAEDA staff and board of directors.

"Our board and community stakeholders have worked diligently over the last 15 months to develop a plan and garner the necessary resources to take economic development in our county to the next level," stated Russ Kassin, DAEDA Chairman. "We are fortunate to have been able to work with the team at the LSCP whose credentialed and experienced staff will play a significant role in our economic development activities."

Dickinson County began their journey in early 2016 with the retirement of their EDA Director, Bruce Orttenburger. Since that time the board and a host of public and private sector leaders have worked tirelessly to create the new organization, focused on business retention and expansion that is funded primarily by private sector companies.

The DAEDA goals include: talent attraction, retention and development, retention and growth of the current business climate, education stimulus, improvement of county infrastructure and promotion of county/regional brand.

"It has been a pleasure for my staff, board and me to build a relationship with the folks in Dickinson County who have common goals and objectives," commented Amy Clickner, CEO of the Lake Superior Community Partnership. "This grassroots collaboration is built on a foundation of trust and the ability to see the value of maximizing limited resources to ensure a strong economic future for Marquette and Dickinson counties. This is a historic moment in U.P. economic development."
