Jeffrey Mosher speaks with Tony Vernaci, Vice President, Global Business Development, MEDC about the importance of "additive manufacturing” and the importance it has in industry. Tony talks about his visit he had with Linear AMS in Livonia last week.
Linear AMS originally started out manufacturing tooling for injection molding. In an effort to begin looking for ways to differentiate themselves from their competitors, they started exploring additive manufacturing and have grown significantly in a very short amount of time. Today they have 15 machines valued at approximately $750,000 each. Their performance was so impressive they attracted the interest of New York based Moog who acquired the company late last year.
