Leadership Lowdown
August 18, 2016 9:00 AM

grandblanc.jpg"Success isn't success without a successor" goes the saying regarding succession planning. Dr. Phil Knight talks with Clarence Garner who is the Superintendent of the Grand Blanc Community Schools, one the top 4% of schools districts in Michigan. GBCS is only one of 19 school districts to receive this distinction. There are 542 school districts in Michigan. His ascension to the Superintendency was planned, executed and his departure will be as well. Succession planning is a value of the School Board and the entire district. Listen to Clarence share his experience during the succession process and the expectation to continue it into the future. Then listen as he shares what he is doing to take GBCS to an even higher level to effectiveness.
