Jeffrey Mosher crossed the city of Lansing, MI, to catch up with the team at Sparrow Hospital.

Hear his interviews with both Casey Keast, an RN on 7 Foster at Sparrow Hospital, a recently hired Nursing School graduate discussing her story of approximately seven years of connection with Sparrow already. As well, Megan Wills, Sparrow's Talent Acquisition Manager, a Sparrow Human Resources expert on hand to talk about this year’s local Nursing job forecast.

This is the time of year when nervous college seniors and their parents are fretting about job prospects after graduation. At Sparrow, we’re saying, “We’re hiring Nurses!” Sparrow hired nearly 150 new graduate RNs last year, along with more than 130 RNs with greater than one year of Nursing experience.

According to Sparrow Health System they are striving to fill about 270 job openings ranging from cafeteria workers to high-level leadership roles, with the bulk of those in nursing. Sparrow can point a low turnover rate for bedside nurses; doing much better than national average for that benchmark. They are especially proud to recruit from local colleges, such as Michigan State University and Lansing Community College.
