SEVERE STORM WARNING

Michigan Business Network
July 21, 2016 2:33 PM

CE_TStorm.pngGood afternoon. An unstable weather pattern creating hot and humid conditions across Lower Michigan today is also expected to generate several rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms with potentially damaging winds throughout Thursday and overnight into Friday. This storm activity could result in power outages and Consumers Energy has mobilized resources to work on expected service restoration. At the same time, Consumers Energy has personnel closely monitoring its electrical distribution system because of the hot and humid weather which is expected to continue through the weekend.

To help the public prepare for what to do before, during and after a storm, we encourage the media to visit www.ConsumersEnergy.com/OutageCenter for helpful tips. At this location, customers also can visit the online outage map, report an outage and sign up to receive power restoration updates. We continuously monitor the weather to better predict storm location and impact, and pre-stage employees to support restoration efforts.  We’re also in contact with Michigan State Police and local emergency managers regarding the potential impact of this storm.

Working together for safer communities is our Promise to Michigan
