Sanford House Addiction Treatment Centers based in Grand Rapids and specializes in “rehabbing rehab.” This means their facilities aren’t sterile and they don’t look like traditional treatment centers across Michigan – they are typically in refurbished homes, comfortable, to take away shame, guilt, and encourage a holistic approach to recovery.

The company, which is fairly new, opened in 2014 with a women’s treatment center, rapidly expanding with a men’s treatment center in 2017 and an outpatient facility in 2018. Due to the high demand of individualized care to addiction, Sanford grew from four employees to more than 50 today. Sanford is led by:

    • David Green, co-founder and CEO of Sanford, has business expertise that is instrumental in the expansion of individualized care throughout Southwest Michigan. He is well-versed in the logistics of insurance models as they relate to addiction treatment. Additionally, he recognizes the impact SUDs has on productivity in the workplace and the bottom line.
    • The opioid crisis is by most measures, one of the worst epidemics in modern history.

Opioid overdoses take 120-130 lives per day in the U.S. Closer to home, nearly 2,000 Michiganders lose their life to the deadly addiction each year. Michigan will receive $35M in federal funding and it’ll come down to experts like David and his team, to lead the charge in our communities.
