MichBusiness awards business leaders at annual Women Thrive Conference

DETROIT, MI — In recent days at the Detroit Marriott Hotel in downtown Detroit The Right Place, Inc. President and CEO Birgit Klohs was inducted by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (known as MichBusiness) into its prestigious Michigan Business Women Hall of Fame. The ceremony was part of the annual Women Thrive Conference program.

Birgit was joined by several other Michigan business women leaders, including:

  • Lizbeth Ardisana, ASG Renaissance
  • Mindi Fynke, EHIM
  • Cynthia Pasky, Strategic Staffing Solutions
  • Dr. Glenda Price, Marygrove College
  • Andra Rush, Detroit Manufacturing Systems
  • Nancy Schlichting, Henry Ford Health System

The criteria for this honor are women leaders who have not only had significant business success, many at a global level, but have also made Michigan a better place to live and work through their efforts.  Their contributions are significant and will impact future women leaders for generations to come.  Many have received other honors, but their continued success and drive to improve the lives of others entitles them to this inaugural induction.

The Women Thrive Conference program is a joint venture of the Michigan Business & Professional Association (aka MichBusiness) and a distinguished advisory committee of leading businesswomen and community leaders. The ongoing mission of the annual Women Thrive Conference is to promote high professional standards, encourage leadership, provide education and assure equal advantages for women who have demonstrated excellence in their professions, place of employment, and volunteerism. The conference offers women business leaders of today and tomorrow, a day of celebration, informative workshops, keynotes, facilitated networking opportunities, and a morning focus of education and inspiration. The highlight of the conference is the awards ceremony where several women are honored with the Distinguished Leadership Award for their achievements in the business community.
