Lansing, Mich. – The immaculate 68,784 square-foot, riverfront building, housing five floors, and 79 urban flats is complete. The innovative second phase of Gillespie Group’s Marketplace consists of micro, one and two-bedroom flats and will welcome its first residents on Friday, March 23, 2018. With its first phase built in 2007, Marketplace’s second phase brings the total to 158 flats on the 4-acre riverfront property.

Residents will move into the trend-setting Marketplace Apartments located in the heart of Lansing’s Riverfront District and enjoy amenities that are the first of their kind in downtown Lansing. The amenities open to all residents include a dog washing station, fitness center and a rooftop patio overlooking the river. One of the most exciting amenities for residents is the bar/lounge located directly off of the lobby that will be opening in April. The bar, which will consist of small plates, brews, wines and cocktails, will be open to the public and will soon boast the best riverfront patio in in Lansing!

"The response and energy downtown residents and the community has been incredible,” said Gillespie Group President, Pat Gillespie. “The new amenities will bring an increased energy and countless social opportunities to downtown Lansing.  We are proud to be in Lansing and love the opportunity to be a part of our City’s continued revitalization.

Construction started in February 2017 and was completed on schedule with Lansing-based builder, Wieland.

“Wieland is thrilled to be a part of another successful Gillespie Group development in downtown Lansing,” said Rob Krueger, chief executive officer at Wieland. “In addition to working for a first-class developer, we were fortunate to have a group of outstanding, Michigan-based subcontractors who provided the highest quality products and services. Completing the project on time and on budget is indicative of the team concept Wieland promotes.”

More than 50 of the 79 flats are currently leased. Gillespie welcomes more people to tour and learn more about what living in Lansing has to offer. Gillespie Group expects the development to be completely occupied by June. You can reach their downtown leasing office at downtownleasing@gillespie-group.com or 517.679.4032.

Marketplace Phase II represents another dynamic partnership between Gillespie Group and the City of Lansing, Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), Huntington Bank and Wieland.
