MARQUETTE, MI —  Fifty-five Marquette County businesses have collectively created 223 new jobs in 2016 and were recognized for their participation in the Plus One Program on Wednesday, February 8th during the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Annual Meeting.

Michigan Works! and the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Plus One program is a program designed around the premise that an employer adding just one employee contributes to the economic development in Marquette County.  Since the inception of the program nine years ago, Marquette County businesses have created 2,970 jobs.

The businesses recognized for adding jobs in 2016 were: 906 Technologies, Active Physical Therapy, Anytime Fitness – Harvey, Argonics, Inc., Biggby Coffee of Marquette, Champion Glass & Counter Tops, Chocolay ACE Hardware, City of Ishpeming, Community Action Alger-Marquette, Community Foundation of Marquette County, Dance of the Sun Day Spa for Wellness, Daniele Carol Photography, Donckers & The Delft Bistro, Double Trouble Entertainment, GEI Consultants Inc., Global Response North, Goodwill Industries of Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, Great Lakes Recovery Centers, Hampton Inn Marquette/Waterfront, Holli Forest Products, Inc.,

Holli Trucking, Inc., Integrated Wellness Chiropractic, Jill Leonard State Farm, Lake Superior Hospice, Marquette Area Public Schools, MJ VanDamme Trucking, Mr. Wrecker, Myefski Architects, Inc., NeuroTrainer, Northern Michigan University, Norway Springs, PEAK Gymnastics & Fitness, Peninsula Fiber Network, Potlatch Corporation, Range Bank, Richardson Jewelers, SAIL, Disability Network of the U.P., Select Realty, Staybridge Suites Marquette.
