LANSING, MI – Sparrow’s Physicians Health Plan has named Scott Norman, who has wide experience in healthcare insurance, as its new Vice President of Business Development.
In his new role, the East Lansing resident will be responsible for sales, marketing, and product and market development for PHP, an award-winning, not for profit health plan. He will also oversee expanding PHP’s support of Affirmant, a statewide coalition of clinically integrated health systems, and development of new products and markets. Sparrow has been a leader in the creation of Affirmant.
Norman, a Michigan State University graduate, was most recently at Priority Health, where he was Vice President of Senior Markets, responsible for a $1.2-billion Medicare business. He previously served as Priority’s VP for Sales and Client Services, responsible for commercial sales and retention, and lead insurance services for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
“We are very pleased Scott has joined the PHP management team,” said Dennis Reese, President and CEO of PHP. “Scott’s extensive commercial insurance experience with Priority Health and the Michigan Chamber, experience with the Priority Health Medicare business, and his ties and connections with the mid-Michigan area will be a great asset.
“We are committed to expanding in the mid-Michigan region. As we continue to grow PHP products, services and reach to support Sparrow Health System and our partners, his background, energy and enthusiasm will be instrumental to our success.”
