Chris Holman speaks with Kevin Kaplan, VP of Sales and Account Management, Physicians Health Plan about the Expanded Exclusive Network, upcoming Open Enrollment for the Marketplace.

  • The Affordable Care Act requires all people to have health coverage that meets the requirement for “minimum essential coverage” or else face a penalty. You satisfy the minimum essential coverage requirement if you have insurance through a government-sponsored, employer-sponsored or individual health insurance plan.
  • PHP’s Exclusive Network, which is offered both on and off the Marketplace for individuals, and as an affordable group option has recently been expanded and now is available for those living in Shiawassee, Ionia,Montcalm (partial), Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.
  • The Exclusive Network offers some of the most affordable options, with easy access to quality healthcare.
  • The Exclusive Network is an HMO network which means no referrals, preventative services are covered at 100 percent, urgent and emergent care is covered anywhere, as if you were in-network and there are thousands of participating Physicians.
  • Through the Network, you’ll have lower premiums, access to local hospitals and Physicians, award-winning Customer Service, 4-tier pharmacy benefit coverage, and a partnership with Delta Dental for dental coverage options.
  • Open enrollment for 2017 will begin on Nov. 1, 2016, and will end on Jan. 31, 2017. In Michigan the deadline to enroll in a plan with a Jan. 1, 2017effective date will be Dec. 15, 2016.
  • PHP has been a local company for more than 35 years and is a subsidiary of Sparrow Health System.
