June 13, 2016 9:41 AM

Russ_Billings.jpegRuss Billings has been in orbit around innovative education for more than 20 years.  As a former physics teacher in Flint Michigan, he came close to becoming an astronaut with NASA, which heavily influenced his development of a powerfully unique, experiential learning program for high school students.  First launched in Michigan, Russ is refueling and igniting his Dive Into Space initiative at his new location, California State University at Fresno. Scuba skills, engineering, problem-solving, communications and leadership development provide the essential components for the six-day experience. In this episode, Karl’s questions draw-out how Russ is tapping the Square One Education Network, Celebratory Leadership and other Michigan resources to support his amazing project. To learn more about ways to support this exceptional program, email Russ at: rbillings@csufresno.edu
