News Release: LCC Board of Trustees Chair appoints 15 to presidential screening committee

LCC logoLANSING, Mich. – Lansing Community College Board of Trustees Chair, Lawrence Hidalgo announced the fifteen members that will serve on the Presidential Screening Committee at the Jan. 27 board meeting.

The screening committee is made up of members from LCC and other community stakeholders.

  • Edythe Copeland, CEO of Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW!)
  • Dawn Cousino, Director of Communication, Media & Arts, President of LCC’s Administrative Association (AFT)
  • Michelle Curtain, Associate Professor of Nursing, President of the Academic Senate at LCC
  • Tim Daman, President and CEO of Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce
  • Kelly King, Mid-Michigan Executive Director for the American Red Cross
  • Guillermo Lopez, Trustee of Lansing School District
  • Jason Mellema, Superintendent of Ingham Intermediate School District
  • Eva Menefee, Lead Faculty Advisor in the Center for Academic and Career Pathways, President of the Michigan Association for Higher Education (MAHE) at LCC

The screening committee will be responsible for reviewing presidential candidate applications and suggesting three to five presidential candidates to the full Board of Trustees for consideration and interviewing.

The LCC Board of Trustees voted unanimously to select Greenwood-Asher & Associates to lead the search for LCC’s seventh president at a board meeting in October 2019.

LCC’s sixth president Brent Knight will retire June 30, 2020.

The presidential website, located at lcc.edu/presidentialsearch, will be updated continuously and will provide new details as they become available.
