The Michigan Spirits Association today released the following statement upon Governor Whitmer’s signing of HBs 4620-4621 and SB 588:

“The new laws show the support our governor and legislators have for Michigan festivals, events, small distillers and the entire spirits industry.

“Working in conjunction with the state to ensure responsible promotional practices and protecting the health and welfare of Michigan residents, the Michigan Spirits Association helps lead the spirits industry in bringing over $450 million in revenues to the state.

“The new laws are a step forward in putting the promotion of spirits closer to parity with the promotion of the beer and wine industry in the state, especially at the large number of festivals and events. We anticipate increased spirits sales and revenue to the state … a win-win for Michigan, festivals and events, and the spirits industry.”
