Leadership Lowdown
March 28, 2017 5:00 PM

8eyno9-blanc-01png.pngLeading change is one of a leaders greatest challenges and one of the area he or she can prove their worth the quickest. Clarence Garner is the new superintendent of the Grand Blanc school district in Grand Blanc, MI.

Grand Blanc is the home to the second largest high school in the state and the district has 13 buildings and just under one thousand employees with a budget approaching $78 million. It takes a leader with great skill to bring innovative ideas and meet the operational challenges in an organization this large. Clarence shares his thoughts on his new responsibilities, refraining from ‘rescuing’ his new team members who are now doing his old job of deputy and human resources and absorbing the emotions from people who are resistant to change, even positive change.
