In this set we have part two of Jeffrey Mosher’s coverage of the recent Grand Opening of the Delta Dental Foundation's dental clinic located at the Volunteers of America Michigan location on Larch Avenue in downtown Lansing. Included in these are excerpts are remarks delivered before the “Floss” Ribbon Cutting. The clinic is set to serve 2,000 patients a year. It houses four dental chairs, X-ray equipment, and a rotation of skilled dental professionals. The clinic will address a critical need for a population that experiences daily pain, lost teeth, poor nutrition and whole body disease that results from poor oral health.

Segment two features Lansing Mayor Virg Benero, Dianna, patient #001 for the new clinic, along with the Volunteers of America staff. The inaugural patient shares her dental care story which, as a homeless person, has included frequent visits to the ER.

The third segment features Jeffrey joining in on a press remarks delivered by Terry Battaglieri, Director of Communications, Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy of Delta Dental Michigan. Teri who is also director of the Delta Dental’s Foundation then shares a recap of how this clinic came to be and the community involvement that made it happen. It includes a great story of the generous Mid-Michgian business community, and the values of not only the dental clinic but other VOA services that can be accessed in Lansing. The hope is that this dental facility could serve as a template on future clinics across the state of Michgian.

The final segment shares the Volunteers of America perspective on the day, the clinic, and the project from Patrick Paterson, Executive Vice President Of VOA Michigan.
