Where will Phil Denny’s Armory Jazz Festival be held? The Fete will be held at the historic Armory located at 330 Marshall Street in Lansing, MI. Armory Smooth Jazz Fete aims to celebrate the properties rich heritage of community related events and activities which has not been done at this level in several years. From 1924 to 2005, the Marshall Street Armory was home to the 119th Field Artillery of the Michigan National Guard. In addition, throughout its nearly 90 years of service to the Lansing community, the Armory has hosted a variety of events, including the training sessions of the National Guard, dances, weddings, circuses, boxing matches, WWII rallies, and St. Patrick’s Day parties. Five years after lapsing into disuse, the Gillespie Group purchased the building in 2010. The fully restored Armory is now home to the Gillespie Group’s corporate headquarters as well as a host of non-profit organizations including the Capital Area United Way which we’re excited to have on board as a supportive and receiving partner.

We expect the inaugural Armory Smooth Jazz Fete to draw upwards of 1000 Fete goers and music followers of all adult ages from across the state and bordering states in its first year.
