Senator Peters recently joined the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he will have an opportunity to continue being an advocate for Michigan’s military installations and growing defense manufacturing sector.

On that committee, Senator Peters has been outspoken regarding his concern on Russia interfering in our elections through cyber-attacks and spreading of misinformation. He also voted against Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State, as Tillerson – stemming from his time as Chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil – has extensive ties to Russian business and political leaders. Last year, Senator Peters visited Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Iceland, where he saw firsthand the threat from Russian aggression and the importance of supporting NATO allies.
