LANSING, Mich., April 2020 – Essential.  Critical.  Both words describing Michigan’s banking community.  The banking industry across our state reinvented itself in March.

The industry, in efforts to protect the health of its customers as well as their own employees have stepped up to meet the challenges set forth by social distancing and executive orders, encouraging customers to utilize mobile and online banking services, automatic teller machines and drive thru window service.  Dedicated banking professionals also meet with customers by appointment to discuss their needs.

As the state transitioned to “stay-home,” bankers were on the phones with their customers, asking about their health, the health of their families, the status of their business, working with families and small businesses to modify their loans.

“Communication is the key.  Essential. Critical,” stated T. Rann Paynter, President & CEO, Michigan Bankers Association.(left) “I encourage Michiganders to talk with their banker.  Give them a call, talk with them about your needs, your challenges, your fears so that they can work with you to help your family, or your business, weather the time ahead.”

Essential.  Critical.  Michigan banks serving their customers in their communities across both peninsulas.
