The MEDC is pleased to announce that our MEDC International Trade Team has named a new director, Emily Tucker. Emily will build upon the strong foundation that our former director Jeanne Broad has laid for the International Trade program. Emily is sincerely passionate about promoting Michigan exports and uniquely qualified to lead our team and network of partners.

Emily joined MEDC in 2014 where she served as an International Trade Development Manager providing export assistance to companies in Southeast and Central Michigan. In this role, Emily helped hundreds of Michigan companies facilitate international sales and job creation. She also served as the lead for Michigan’s foreign offices in Mexico and Brazil. Emily has had experience in international trade assistance at the state level for both Michigan and Ohio, where she’s worked both in the field and helped manage operations. A former legislative aide and trained attorney, Emily also has a strong background in government relations and public policy.

Emily is a Certified Global Business Professional accredited by the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Capital University Law School. She also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and International Relations, from the Ohio State University.

We are excited about the new energy Emily brings to the team and her vision for the future of the program.
