Chris Holman welcomes Kris Tennant, OTR/MPT, Director of Rehabilitation for Mary Free Bed, to the MBN studios to share the history and special story around Mary Free Bed.

Mary Free Bed at Sparrow is a joint venture between Sparrow Heath System and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and offers highly specialized inpatient rehabilitative care for Patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, trauma, amputation, spinal cord injury, cardiac or pulmonary conditions, orthopedic injury or other illness requiring intensive rehabilitation.

They develop an individualized treatment plan with you and your loved ones, which seeks to enhance and work toward your full potential in your functional abilities. They provide you with at least three hours of therapy, five out of seven days a week. Their goal is to get you back home and as close as possible to your normal routine, so discharge planning begins as soon you arrive.  

Their team provides a strong start in your initial recovery back working together with our experienced team of physicians who specialize in rehabilitative medicine. Their rehabilitation unit features 40 private Patient rooms, state-of-the-art therapy gyms and high-tech equipment such as our Safe Gait ambulation system.
