LANSING, MI — Lansing’s Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) has been awarded $20,000 from Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (Jackson®), to support the TechTransport bus, ITEC’s mobile computer lab.

The company’s donation will allow the Lansing-based program to continue developing students’ technology skills through tutoring and classes aboard the ITEC bus. ”At Jackson, we believe every child should have the opportunity to build a successful future,” said Danielle Robinson, director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Jackson.

”At Jackson, we believe every child should have the opportunity to build a successful future,” said Danielle Robinson, director of Corporate Social Responsibility for Jackson. “ITEC’s TechTransport takes innovative educational opportunities on the road, meeting students where they are and further increasing their chances for success. ITEC’s proven track record of offering interactive programming that enhances students’ STEM knowledge makes them an ideal partner.”

This year, ITEC expects to serve at least 2,500 children throughout the Greater Lansing area by providing a state-of-the-art space launch experience, among many more exciting programs. The bus programs include 3D printing, augmented reality and the Kerbal Space Program.

“Thanks to Jackson’s contribution, we are one step closer to providing our services to thousands of students in the mid-Michigan area,” said Kirk Riley, executive director for ITEC. “We are so grateful for Jackson’s support and for all that they do for ITEC.”
