International Marketing and Sales

Michigan Business Beat
July 28, 2015 12:00 PM

Sales and Marketing Chris speaks with Dr. Bonnie Knutson, a professor in The School of Hospitality Business in the Broad College of Business for Michigan State University. They discuss a range of issues, from the business card, its role in business, and how people need to be mindful of differences from culture to culture, even with small things like these cards.

They touch a little further on global awareness, international marketing and sales, and studying culture as part of developing markets. Bonnie cites how studies show an ever shrinking attention span, and how businesses need to make their messages relevant to an audience and consumers, whether it's through traditional advertising, or through today's expanded offerings of social media. From there, Chris welcomes Dr. Bonnie to the network, and finds out what she plans to focus on for "Marketing Moments".

Michigan Business Beat, hosted by Chris Holman, discusses economic development, new or unusual entrepreneurial initiatives, and successful business practices from different regions and industries around Michigan with a wide range of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
