Indie Film Debuts in Lansing

Show Biz weekly welcomes the stars of the short film 'Confidence of a Tall Man', including Lead actor De Marco, Papa, Orlich, join us for the hour with fantastic insight on the filming of a movie short.

Segment 1 - De Marco speaks how closely he felt to the character in this film because it deals heavily with family issues. His own family owns the restaurant Pizza no’s a staple in the Lansing area. Orlich begins to share why he calls Michigan home after graduating MSU, and Papa, who was once a social worker, and now a full time real estate agent, took on this film as a challenge and has fallen in love with acting.

Segment 2 - Cast of Confidence of A Tall Man which will premiere at Tavern and Tap on July 30t. Orlich talks about starting out in cable access television long ago, which was ground breaking in learning every step of filming. Bravo TV is discussed. Orlich has learned it all. Wayne’s World is brought up because of the reference. Orlich’s character “Teddy” is a tough, hard knocks character whose family full of many demons is taking its toll. Michael McCallum directs the film and shares that the film has already been accepted into two film festivals. You can go to their Facebook page. Support your local filmmakers.

confidence tall man.jpgSegment 3 - Tavern and Tap, continues with the cast and crew of Confidence of A Tall Man, McCallum, also wrote, directed and edited the film, himself plays the role of Donny in the film. DeMarco, talks about working with McCallum and how he approached the film with the direction of an actor’s director who would whisper in his ear to remind him of their personal talks about his own life. Michigan Avenue is talked about it’s hey day and the story captures this appeal.  Papa, talks about going after a role and having fun with it. With commercial work in her background, acting in this film gave her the confidence to go for acting more.

Segment 4 - From the Washington Room at Tavern and Tap in downtown Lansing, we continue with the cast and crew of COATM premiering at this location on July 30th, 2017. Already has won an award, and has eight nominations. “Confidence of A Tall Man 2?” McCallum thinks it’s not going to happen because “it’s own story”. Scott Allman, and Andrew K. Tebeau get shout outs. The work of the cinematographer and a colorist the work on this film and in that order, delivered the highest quality of professional production work.

Segment 5 - Richard Pryor, and Gene Wilder “Stir Crazy” and more laughed at. We continue with the cast and crew of COATM, NBC and “This Is Us” … What do you hope the audience takes away from this film is asked…

Segment 6 - On location at Tavern & Tap where Confidence of A Tall Man will premiere on July 30th. Characters are discussed and how it came to live for Jennifer, Ken and Johnny. The cast and crew have nothing but major kudos to Taylor’s co-host, and Taylor ahhs and shares it’s great to work with Michael McCallum!
