The Election 20XX Campaign Community held its first City Leadership Forum at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Lansing, MI, on Thursday, May 25 at 6pm. The forum posed questions of candidates for City Clerk, City Council and Mayor.

Election 20XX is a non-partisan political education and community engagement campaign to promote the importance of voting in every election. "We believe every election matters. From the block club to the White House, who represents us matters," said campaign organizer Angela Waters Austin. Election 20XX will educate the community on all candidates and their planned strategies to promote justice, opportunity and equitable outcomes for all. Additionally, Election 20XX will educate residents on the track record of current elected officials on issues that affect their ability to achieve their American dream.

The May 25 forum is the first in a series leading up to the general election. Members of the Election 20XX Campaign Community include: Black Lives Matter Lansing, One Love Global Inc., Greater Lansing Clergy Forum, BLM Lansing Allies, Greater Lansing Network Against War and Injustice (GLNAWI), Action of Greater Lansing, Indivisible Michigan 8th, Edgewood United Church of Christ Racial Justice Task Force, and Lansing Indivisible.
