WHAT: Through a $24,000 investment, Delta Dental is providing 8,000+ players enrolled in National Flag Football in Michigan and Indiana with mouthguards this spring season.

As part of the league’s requirements, all children must wear a mouthguard during play. The league is open to boys and girls in grades pre-K to eighth grade.

On Sunday, teams will receive their mouthguards, have their first team practice and be invited to participate in a fun and engaging Touchdown for Teeth tailgate presented by Delta Dental.

WHO: Delta Dental representatives will talk with parents and children enrolled in National Flag Football Michigan Chapter about the importance of taking care of their smiles and staying healthy.

WHY: Children are 60 times more likely to damage their teeth when not wearing a mouthguard, according to the American Dental Association, and wearing a mouthguard during contact and collision sports can help decrease the chances of tooth trauma.

WHEN: 12-2 p.m. Sunday, April 22

WHERE: East Grand Rapids High School Football Stadium, 2211 Lake Drive SE, East Grand Rapids
