Okemos, Michigan — Children from across Michigan will soon experience the whimsical and engaging oral health exhibit, Keep Smiling! at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.

The Delta Dental Foundation committed $200,000 to fund the creation of this interactive oral health exhibit which is set to open in early 2019.

Visitors to the exhibit will learn about the difference between animal teeth and human teeth, inspired by Sandra Markle’s storybook, What If You Had Animal Teeth? Children will also examine the inside of the mouth, view dental images and learn the steps to properly care for their oral and overall health.

“At the Delta Dental Foundation, we believe that children learn best when they actively experience learning. Keep Smiling!, will offer children and their families the opportunity to learn about the importance of healthy teeth and mouths through a variety of engaging, educational activities,” said Teri Battaglieri, Director for the Delta Dental Foundation.

“The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is delighted to partner with the Delta Dental Foundation to create a truly unique informal learning exhibit experience for children and their families,” said Mel Drumm, Executive Director of the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum.

Keep Smiling! is one of several oral health exhibits for which the Delta Dental Foundation has provided funding in recent years. Others include the Chew On This! exhibit at Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing and the Inside the Grin exhibit at Duke Energy Children’s Museum in Cincinnati.
