Construction Association of MichiganChris talks with Kevin Koehler, President of the Construction Association of Michigan, about their recent Annual Meeting and Trade Show. It was held earlier in February, at the Detroit MotorCity Casino Hotel. It was a great day, with a sold out crowd for both the Annual Meeting and the Trade Show. The keynote speaker was James Benham, Co-Founder and CEO of JBKnowledge, Inc., located in College Station, Texas. He shared how technology and construction have merged, and touched on 3D imaging, drones and virtual reality within the construction industry.

Construction in Michigan is taking off, with a significant increase in new construction. There is even starting to be backlog, especially in southeastern Michigan. Kevin touched on their recent survey, the good news supported the fact that new construction is booming. The area of concern was a skilled labor shortage.
