Leadership Lowdown
January 23, 2015 11:59 AM

leadershipClarence Garner is the Deputy Superintendent of the Grand Blanc School District. Clarence has a background in Human Resources and is one of the up and coming influential leaders in education. Mr. Garner helps lead the state's 5th largest school district. Clarence is a living testament to George Washington Carver's quote, "You do not judge a person by what they accomplish, you judge a person by what they overcome to accomplish." Mr. Garner despite hardship has grown himself into an influential leader.

Problems are leader's opportunity to demonstrate their worth. Do so by making the 'unimportant' important when working with someone who is disgruntled. Clarence Garner discussed the difference between dealing with Difficult People or Difficult Situations. Conflict is often 10% because of an issue and 90% because of the tone the message was delivered in. Listen to Clarence discuss the Feel - Felt - Found strategy for delivering a message someone doesnt't want to hear. A powerful concept is describe by Clarence Garner by replacing 'erroneous assumptions' with 'positive intent'.

Leadership Lowdown, hosted by Vic Verchereau, provides positive and practical principles for leaders who want to multiply their influence and take their team to the next level of effectiveness.
