Image result for Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee CountiesIn this time of great uncertainty Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties is determined to meet this challenge head-on while still serving the most vulnerable among us. Under Governor Whitmer’s Stay Home Act, our services are considered essential. Our staff has remained flexible and creative in how we address the needs of our clients. We know that these times are difficult and the need for counseling is imperative to our mental health

Their counselors have made accommodations to continue visits through Telehealth video or phone conferences.

Since the COVID-19 began, our Children’s Center has seen an influx of children in need of a loving foster family. Our social workers have been very proactive and are coordinating virtual visitations between our biological parents and their children and arranging in person visits when conditions are appropriate.

We will remain a valuable resource to the many people we feed daily through our three soup kitchens. Our staff and volunteers will take every safety precaution during preparation and serving to abide by the recommended social distancing requirements. Because of this, our meals will now be offered on a to-go basis. We recognize the value of our staff, so we are following CDC guidelines by allowing all staff that can work from home, to do so, and operating with a skeleton staff in our offices. Through it all our mission to Provide Help and Create Hope remains at the forefront. Below is a list of hours and services available.
