CAR updated several tips for the community by CEO Carla Bailo.

There has been a lot of news and information shared about COVI9 19 in the past week, days, and hours. CAR takes this situation seriously, and I wanted to reach out to our community without adding too much to the noise being generated by the news media and social media.

I want to start by expressing my sense of sympathy for each person and organization during these troubled times. CAR stands in solidarity with you.  The health and safety of the CAR community and CAR employees is our highest priority. Due to growing concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), CAR is taking the following actions:

  • To help the CAR community gain a better understanding of the impact COVID 19 could have on the automotive industry, CAR created a coronavirus resource guide that is updated frequently. On March 6, CAR hosted a coronavirus webinar. You can access both of those here:
  • After careful thought and consideration, CAR, along with OESA and HPE, postponed the Mobility Web Industry Briefing. All CAR working group meetings will be conducted virtually until further notice. The CAR spring Affiliates Dinner scheduled for April 16, is postponed to be rescheduled at a later date. CAR staff will reach out to you with more information about these in the coming weeks.

To help mitigate concerns about COVID 19 and to support social distancing, CAR has implemented the following measures at our office in Ann Arbor:

  • CAR staff may work from home and will continue to be accessible by email and mobile phone.
  • All in-person meetings at CAR have been suspended until further notice.
  • CAR is following all recommended travel, cleaning, and maintenance guidelines from the CDC website.

CAR MBS 2020 registration opened on March 9. All planning and activities are moving forward as usual at this time. If you intend to register and have concerns about the potential cancellation of the event due to COVID 19, we have addressed these in our refund policy. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions.

The team at CAR is carefully monitoring the impact the COVID 19 pandemic is having on the industry now and will have in the months to come. CAR is dedicated to its mission to conduct unbiased research that supports the health of the automotive and mobility industry. Our team will continue to collect, analyze, and share any new information as it comes in.

Please take care of yourself, your families, and your organizations at this time. Thank you for your ongoing support of CAR.
