The Lansing Board of Water & Light hosted the Regional Water Tapping Competition, Wednesday November 6. The three member teams will race against the clock to be the fastest team to simulate a new house water service installation with as few violations, including minor leaks and safety risks, as possible.

Here our coverage included an interview with Kelly Gleason, a part of the ladies team. Click play on our PodCast shared below!

The simulation includes installing a copper line and adding an on-off valve at the water main and curb stop. The session was Wednesday, November 6 at 1pm held at BWL Water Department, 730 E. Hazel St. Building G, Lansing, MI. with BWL Men’s Waterdog Tappers, and BWL Women’s Lethal Ladies

The BWL Waterdog Tappers will took on the men’s team from Columbus, Ohio. Both BWL’s Lethal Ladies and the Columbus men’s team are the defending champions of the regional competition.

The BWL teams will also compete at the state competition held in Lansing in February. The winners of the men’s and women’s teams overall will then compete representing the State of Michigan at the national competition in Orlando, Florida in June 2020.

Here's a link to the video to the competitive set accomplished by the men from Columbus, OH.
