The Lansing Board of Water & Light will host its 11th annual Hometown Power 5K this Saturday, August 10 at 9am. Proceeds for the event will benefit the McLaren Greater Lansing Healthcare Foundation.
WHAT: BWL Hometown Power 5K

WHERE: BWL REO Town Headquarters, 1201 S. Washington Ave., Lansing
Mayor Andy Schor will kick-off this year’s run which will again run through neighborhoods near the BWL REO Town Headquarters and along the river trail (link through to see image for the course map). Each finisher will receive a race tech t-shirt and a finisher’s medal. Medals will also be awarded to the top three in each age group and overall winners. There will also be a free kids’ fun run following the completion of the 5K.
Lansing’s TimeFrame Photography will also be on site taking free pictures of participants throughout the race.
Packet pick-up will be held on Friday, August 9 at the REO Town Depot from 5-8pm, as well as from 7:30-8:45am the morning of the race. Interested runners can still register at packet pick-up, the morning of the race or by registering here.
