Show Biz Weekly welcomes back Aziza Miller, the Brooklyn, New York native Music Composer Miller to SBW with updates and news of a moving tribute CD “This Journey of Love”. The CD has dropped and makes it’s live venue showcase debut on Tuesday, Oct 6th @ 8PM 2016 at the Iridium in New York, 1650 Broadway & 51st Street 10019.
Aziza Miller, who’s career includes being the former high school vocal and coral coach for Alicia Keyes, shared that in a dream, her friend the legendary 9-time Grammy award winner Natalie Cole came to her and told her “it was time to do music again”. Miller not only was a close dear friend with Cole, she also worked as chanteuse’s musical director from 1975-1980 and their relationship lasted until the singer’s departure on December 31, 2015. In fact, Cole’s last performance was with Miller on stage at the “Iridium” in New York where the two of them perform “La Costa”, the music written by Miller with lyrics by Cole.
Miller shares that the songs from the CD were written as tributes to friends and love ones that she recently lost, including Horace Silver, who Miller first met back when she was 18 and it was under his influence that changed her future and brought her to composing music. Miller’s legacy continues as she returns to the stage at the Iridium next month. Tickets available at: www.theiridium.com or call 212*582*2121 www.azizamiller.com
