LANSING, Mich. – Following an October 2018 program launch, PROTO Accelerator InsurTech has just closed the 2019 application process. Notably, international interest in the program is high, with two-thirds of applications received coming from outside the U.S. This new interest from abroad has yet to be seen among other established Michigan accelerators, which has the potential to offer PROTO InsurTech program founders the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP), Delta Dental and Farm Bureau a possible competitive advantage in the Michigan tech and insurtech startup space over the coming year.

The company’s decision to distribute from Lansing was largely based on acceleration services accessible through the MI Food Innovation District (MI FID).

LANSING, Michigan –Ten years of blight and decay at a former hotel located near Dunckel and Collins roads in Lansing, could soon be lifted thanks to a new redevelopment proposal. Waypoint Residential, a Florida-based developer, has proposed the creation of a 286-unit market rate multi-family community, which is envisioned to meet the housing needs of the many new doctors, nurses, administrators, and other medical professionals who will join the local workforce in conjunction with the McLaren Health Campus development already underway.

Lansing, MI – Lions, Tigers, and Bears, oh my! is a phrase that has taken a new turn on Pennsylvania Avenue near Potter Park Zoo in Lansing. Led through the Lansing Economic Area Partnership’s (LEAP) regional ENGAGE placemaking program, the latest piece of permanent public art in Lansing features a whimsical animal themed design, which was painted in part by the local community. Officially unveiled on Tuesday evening, the #Penn4People mural project represents how collaborative placemaking is working to transform the Lansing region into a place that can attract and retain top talent from around the world.
