Accident Fund Insurance Company of America is Growing!

Michigan Business Beat
November 16, 2015 6:00 PM

Economic Development, Mike MauerMike Maurer, Director of Business Development, at the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, speaks with Chris about insurance education initiatives going on locally, as well as briefly reviewing the business/work-comp climate in Michigan.

It's been a growing year for Accident Fund, and businesses could see lowering in their premium. With the growth, like many other companies, acquiring talent is a challenge. In response to this challenge, they have created an Insurance Leadership Academy, working in the Lansing area with high school students, including some from the Capital Area Career Center. Careers in insurance go beyond sales, and can include marketing, and technology. Training in the insurance field takes 12 months, but can be well worth it, and blended in with college studies, or after graduation.

Michigan Business Beat, hosted by Chris Holman, discusses economic development, new or unusual entrepreneurial initiatives, and successful business practices from different regions and industries around Michigan with a wide range of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
