Michigan State President John Engler will take the stage on Thursday morning May 10th at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, MI to talk about education, talent gap, workforce development and issues around the East Lansing campus in an event being billed as “A Conversation With John Engler.”
The event is the inaugural forum of the Detroit Free Press’ new “Breakfast Club” speaker series which is being launched to address key issues impacting the region with high profile speakers .
Moderating the discussion will be Detroit Free Press award winning columnist and CBS 62 Senior Producer/Host Carol Cain (who is also an MSU Alum).
President Engler has been a force in business across Michigan and the nation. He ran the National Manufacturers Association and the influential Business Roundtable in Washington D.C. after leaving as Michigan’s Governor.
The event marks his first public forum since taking over as President of MSU. He will talk about education, preparing young people for jobs today and tomorrow, and the road ahead for MSU.
